Case on alleged Abduction, Forceful Marriage of Habiba Isyaku adjourned to Feb 14th

The nonappearance of applicant’s lawyer, Barrister BS Bawa, yesterday stalled hearing on the case of Habiba Isyaku, a teenager entangled in alleged forceful abduction and marriage.

Habiba who was in court to testify over a letter purportedly written by her disassociating herself from the case, could not do so.

At the resumed sitting yesterday, Bawa through a letter deposited with the clerk of the court, asked for adjournment on the grounds that he had another case at the Supreme Court.

Justice Baraka Wali adjourned the matter to February 14, asking the applicant’s counsel to send a representative to the court that day in case he could not be present.
